Three months after the inauguration of Xiomara Castro as the country’s first female president, this document gathers the challenges and opportunities that the Honduran state, a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council since January 2022, currently has with regards to defenders of land and territory, the LGTBI+ community, women and freedom of expression, among other issues. Some systematized conclusions based on our accompanying work and several spaces of dialogue and exchange with civil society representatives and organizations on different topics.
